Ok, so why the website?

After looking around at the many over-expensive ‘baby white noise cds’ out there, I told my wife: “Hey I can make better audio than that!” And so I did. I’ve decided to turn what I made for my baby into a digital download anyone can purchase and use.

Why are your sounds better?

Price, variety, sound quality, and convenience. There are some ‘white noise machines’ which cost $100+, and output horrible sound from a tiny speaker. The white noise CDs I found for sale were very expensive ($12-$30+ for one CD with limited sounds). There are limited websites selling MP3 downloads which are charging nearly $10 per sound which all sound horrible.

How did you make these sounds?

My degrees and professional training are in electronic music, audio, and sound design.

How do I get my iPod to repeat a single song or track?

To set iPod to repeat songs, select Settings in the main menu, then select Repeat. To set it to repeat that one song or track, press the Select button again. On newer model iPods, you just have to select Settings > Repeat > One and then navigate to the track you wish to continuously repeat.

Do I have to have a paypal account?

No paypal account required! Paypal is tricky and tries to make it appear that you need to login. But this is not required to send payment.

What are the technical specs of your MP3 files?

Audio is encoded with LAME 3.98 with this setting: -V2 -q0

Don’t MP3s degrade sound quality?

Yes and no. An MP3 removes the portion of audio out of human hearing range and leaves you with a smaller file size. So there is no perceived audio loss. All babysleepingsounds.com MP3s are encoded at levels which reach transparency.

Who owns the copyright? Are these files copyrighted?

Yes! I created these audio files and own the copyright. The files are Copyright 2009 babysleepingsounds.com

Is there any copy-protection or DRM?

No!
